My name is Thurman, and I am a slave. I'm one of the lucky ones, my master taught me how to read and write, and he actually treats me well, as long as I do what I'm suppose to. After I get done with my work, sometimes me and the master go down to the fishing hole for a little bit. I also like going to church, me and the other slaves try to get together on Sunday mornings.When I get free, I'm going to find me a wife, get married and have kids, and live out my life by a life.
